Research and Library Committee

  • Mandate

    The committee helps to foster and promote research activities of the faculty, and to coordinate with the library to ensure that the academic needs of the faculty are met. Specifically, the committee:

    • Coordinates communication with the library to ensure that the collection and services of the Bronfman Library meet the needs of the Schulich community,
    • Adjudicate research fellowships and internal research awards,
    • Conducts human participants reviews associated with SSB courses,
    • Consult for key research initiatives and large projects such as the research website,
    • Advises on research related policy development
    • Engages in research planning and communication
    • Helps  execute the faculty’s strategic research plan

    • Executive Director (IS&T), ex officio
    • 3 faculty members from any area, elected by faculty council
    • 1 masters level student representative, elected by faculty council
    • 1 bachelors level student representative, elected by faculty council
    • The Bronfman Business Library Librarian, ex officio
    • The Research Officer, ex officio

    Quorum:  Not applicable  

    Meeting Schedule:  The committee normally meets approximately four times per year and conducts business via electronic communications as required
