York University’s Senate represents the highest level of academic governance. The Senate is composed of elected and appointed members determined by Senate regulation as well as ex-officio members specified by the Act. It is responsible for the overall academic policy of the University. The Senate conducts business through standing committees that bring recommendations to the full Board or full Senate at regularly scheduled meetings.
